“The Ledyard Economic Development Commission has completed installation of nine Ledyard and Gales Ferry signs near roads leading into Town Centers. To capture the theme that Ledyard is a "Town for All Seasons," a tree with the four seasons of foliage is depicted. A stone wall, which is typical of the Ledyard and Gales Ferry landscape, has also been incorporated into the design of the sign. The tree and stonewall have been colorfully sandblasted on a green background; all lettering is in gold leaf. Fabrication of the signs were made possible by donations from the Dime Savings Bank, Holdridge Farm Nursery, Citizen's Bank, the Mystic Pony Club, Andersen Oil, Dow Chemical, McGrattan/Walsh Family, and Lorenz Family -- representing the solid commitment of local businesses and groups to the Town.” ... from the town of Ledyard website.
