There were two pending sales in Ledyard last week, despite the holiday which for some people stretched from Friday to Monday. It appears that we can expect about 2 -3 sales a week and while that is not great news, there are at least a couple happy sellers each time I report Ledyard statistics. There were only 3 new listings last week and 4 closed sales. That's the way we like it!
The great news is interest rates! They continue to fall to levels lower than I’ve ever reported in my 33 years in the business. So while home inventory increases, and prices and interest rates fall, buyers remain in the cat bird seat.
How do the first 6 months of the last 5 years compare in terms of closed sales in Ledyard? We’ve closed less than half of the number of sales we did in 2005 aka “The Peak”. I believe we received a big boost in 2010 from the tax credit and that the final numbers of 2010 will be lower than 2009.
