The Ledyard Politico - No Whole Fruit

I've started packing today for my trip to Tampa for the Republican National Convention. (I leave Sunday.) Several weeks ago I received security information which included a list of items not permitted within the security perimeter of the Tampa Bay Times Forum. Most of the items on the list make perfect sense. I wasn't planning on bringing fireworks, mace, or weapons. But "whole fruit"? That was the only food item on the list. So even if I were so inclined to pack a peach or banana for a convention snack, it won't be happening.
