The Ledyard Town Council recently approved a small (Less than $4000) tax abatement for $500,000 of improvements at the Ocean State Job Lot Plaza. Residents have already seen the addition of the fieldstone wall holding the entrance sign. Watch for new lighting, some parking lot repair and new signage during 2012. Additional improvements like a new building canopy and painting will come over the next two years.

its a shame that it took an abatement to get the owners to do something about their property appearence. Why over two years? Can't they paint the building and slap up some decorative siding in a shorter amount of time than that? CVS was built in about 6 months from nothing. Don't get me wrong, I'm looking forward to the changes. Its just amazing that they wouldn't do any improving without a monetary compromise.

I like the new sign, just very surprised they put it up three days before one of the biggest storms ever is supposed to hit..is it just me?

Brett - I couldn't agree more. It is maddening that they have such little pride in the property.
Nora - I thought exactly the same thing. I hope it stays standing!
